Save The Best For Last

Let's be honest; yesterday was more for the kids than it was for me & Melissa.

Today....oh, today....today was for us.

It started off easy enough; kids sleeping in, playing quietly, oatmeal eating, napping (Peter, that is). Melissa had an appointment, so me & the kids chilled, ate some pb&j sandwiches; it was divine.

Peter had some 'splainin' to do, but he decided to give me the old one-four.

After lunch, this is what I found while I was getting stuff ready for the rest of our day. I love how Peter is the only one looking at the camera.

Then, the fun began. I packed up the kids in my van, got some Starbucks and headed off to Grandma's house (aka Barb, aka Melissa's mom).

Peter told me that he knew how to get to Grandma's house; it's over the river and through the woods! No, Peter....that's how you get to Canada.

We dropped the kids off at Grandma's house (thank you, Barb, if you are reading this; the girls are spoiled for life) so Melissa and I could...well.....

...do a LITTLE shopping.

Then we were off again- picked up the kids and headed up the mountain to my friend Cassie's house for a POOL PLAYDATE!!!!!

This made me so happy. I love that the girls are big enough to go have fun on their own. I loved seeing Cassie & Kirsie again (good friends from SMCC down in the S to the G). I loved seeing how the kids have grown and hearing fun drama filled stories (about howling wolf dogs, nonetheless). We ate, laughed and had a great time relaxing. Not to mention, the pool was amazing. My girls loved it.

We may have made one more stop before we got home (that is a blog for another time), showered the kids and put them in bed. This was the girls the last time I checked on them:

Out like a lamp (and cue The Brave Little Toaster).

This was a great trip and it really was all Melissa's idea. I hope that I can come up to SLC more frequently to see my Wiebes and other friends that reside up here.

We'll be off tomorrow- I'm happy to see B and our little doggies....and for a haircut, which I think I have to wait one more week for. Oh well...it's still coming!
