Because this is a GINORMOUS update, I will section it off, beginning with:
THE QUICKIE UPDATE
I am 99% over my morning sickness! Hooray for the second trimester! I have a doctor appointment on Friday, so I'll update on baby #2 at that point.
Piper is a walking, FALLING, babbling, eating-things-off-of-the-floor, cutsie machine. As you will see from any pictures posted, she is growing more and more adorable every day.
Pipe and I traveled to Mesa, AZ to visit my family for a week and a half back at the tail-end of June. We spent a week at my grandma's cabin in Heber and then the rest of the visit was down in Hades (oops, I meant Mesa). Overall, it was a fantastic trip, but who doesn't love going home to their wonderful, comfortable mattress?
Bryce was very happy that we were home, however he had to leave for California today for a training session for his work. We will miss him a lot, especially Piper.
PIPER LOVES MIA
Piper loved her cousin Mia. I wasn't too sure how she would act around a baby, but she couldn't stop looking at her or touching her (usually in a nice way except if Mia took Eeyore from Piper...she is very possessive about her Eeyore). Here are some cute pics of them together:
Piper kissing Mia.
And, um, Mia kissing, or CONSUMING Piper.
Piper and Mia in the bathtub at the cabin...and Piper is being nice in this picture, not pointing out Mia's future "Gonzo" nose (jab at Courtney).
Sitting pretty.
Sitting pretty with these little doggies that my great-grandma made.
PLAYING IN THE DIRT YARD AT THE CABIN/SNACK CHAIR/POTTY CHAIR
Piper loved playing out in the yard (which was mostly dirt) running around, laughing hysterically. Seriously, after she had played out there for maybe ten minutes, her feet would be black, her legs all dusty and scratched up, hands and face decorated...her bathwater was a sight to be seen. Here are some pictures of her expeditions:
Looking snazzy in her wild jumpsuit and lop-sided pony tails.
Pointing at something (who knows really).
Leading the way to who knows where.
Piper had one specific recliner that she would sit in to eat her snacks (also, nice for Mama because the dogs couldn't reach her that well). I called it her Snack Chair.
Too cute.
My mom had brought out my old potty chair just to kind of decorate the bathroom while Piper was there (just so you know, Piper is not in training). However, Piper liked to drag it out into the living room...
She couldn't figure out how to sit in it.
Finally, Mama steered her in the right direction.
MAMA AND DAUGHTER
I don't usually get too many pictures of Piper and myself, since I'm normally the photographer.
Here we are on a lovely rainy day in Heber. Piper really liked the rain a lot and so did I.
The day after 4th of July; we were getting ready to go to a parade (see the burgeoning belly???).
Yes, Piper had a sippy cup to her face, but I love candid shots like this.
Hanging out at the fireworks.
We stopped at Christopher Creek, where my family used to camp all the time. Piper really liked the looks of the creek itself, but it was too stormy and the path too steep to see it up close.
I like this shot.
One last section...FAMILY PHOTOS
What is a trip to see your family without some last minute family photos (not the professional kind)?
Me, Court, Mia and Piper.
Auntie San and Mia.
Auntie Court and Piper.
Grammie with her two granddaughters...notice that Mia actually has a good newborn hold on Piper's hair (anyone who has had a newborn pull your hair knows how hard they pull)...
Grammie with her now crying Piper D and the sly Mia D.
Nichole and Chelsea, the young and sophisticated (not to mention cool, but bad-driving) aunties with Piper.
Little Nana with Pip; she's called Little Nana because Piper has a nana already and because Nana is short. She and my grandpa were very happy to have us over.
GG consoling the Pip...she was up way past her bedtime (Pip, not GG).
Honestly, I have so many more pictures, but they must go on a separate post or else this will be more than GINORMOUS. Hopefully, I will have time tomorrow to put those on. Until then, have a great day.
