Sue and Cliff are out here visiting and Sue drove Piper and I to our first appointment, which happened to be Piper's. It was just a routine check-up, but came right in time because yesterday Piper was actually sick! She had a low-grade fever and threw up a couple of times. Poor baby.
Here are the stats from her appointment:
Weight: 22 pounds, which is the same as her last appointment in April. I was a little worried until I found out this...
Height: 31.5 inches! She has sprung up about 5 inches since February! She's going to be a tall one, according to her doctor, Dr. Doug Callahan, who in my opinion is the best pediatrician Pipe has ever seen! Even Sue liked him a lot!
So, she didn't have a fever, her ears and throat were fine. We'll just keep an eye on her. Other than that, he said she is perfectly healthy! However, Piper had another temperature toward the evening. It was pretty high too and she threw up a couple of times again, so we'll just keep an eye on her.
This is how she was laying around all day. Poor Pip.
Sue also watched Piper while Bryce and I went to my doctor's appointment. Today was going to be another good one; listening to the heartbeat, which I love.
Here are my stats:
Gestation: 10 weeks, 6 days
Weight: 127 pounds, which is 3 down from my last appointment. However, since I was so sick, I wasn't surprised. I'm sure I've actually been gaining weight.
And here's my funny story. So Dr. Ott was using the Doppler, checking for baby's heartbeat. He couldn't find it. I can honestly say I wasn't super worried, since I was still feeling sick, but nonetheless...He stopped and said, "You know, I'm not a patient man. If I can't find the heartbeat, I like to cheat and do an ultrasound."
YAY!!! So, we did an ultrasound and sure enough, there was our little baby, looking like a baby and everything, wiggling its little arms and legs, bouncing around. You could see the heartbeat too. Oh, it was so precious! Even Bryce was really excited (macho man, ha).

And here it is! You can see it's little nose, it's two legs kicked up, and the bump on its body is one of its hands. It looks like baby is just chilling. I even asked it, "Why are you making me so sick?"
So Dr. Ott answered some of my questions and asked if we had our picture from the ultrasound. We said no, because I didn't see him print any. He laughed and said, "Lay back down! We'll have to do another quick one!"
I'm healthy, baby is healthy, Piper is healthy (and maybe just has a little bug)! Yay! Her next appointment is in September. My next appointment is July 18th.
YAY FOR BABIES!
And here's Piper, watching "The Gods Must Be Crazy". We got a kick out of watching her just lean on the couch. She loved the movie!
