Piper made a very important decision recently.
She decided to give her life to Christ on June 19th.
In the Bible, it says this in Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Bryce and I were beyond excited (and I cried, of course). It was such an honor to pray with her and walk her through accepting Christ. And as soon as we were done, she asked, "So...when can I get bathtized?"
Um, yes...she means baptized.
In the Christian faith, you make the decision to get baptized when you are ready to declare to the world that Christ is the Lord of your life. It is a public declaration of your desire to live a God-honoring life. You can do this at any point in your life. Piper wanted to tell the world right away!
She decided.
On September 11th, she was baptized by our pastors, and friends, Jake & Tom. They have known Piper since she was 18 months old, so that made it even more special. We were surrounded by grandparents, sisters, fellow Christ-followers and dear friends, who have known Piper just as long as Jake & Tom.
