30-28: On the Cusp

Today was my favorite MerMer's birthday. Considering his work schedule (and the fact that we both slept in kind of late this morning), we could only do a little bit of celebrating.

He was serenaded by the girls where they gave him a box with his own underwear in it (classic) and some yogurt. We walked across the street to Dede's for breakfast (might have been a not so great choice, except for the coffee) and then Daddy had to work.

We weren't done though. We stopped by Costco to get him his own tablet,

picked up a couple of epic shirts

and started planning out a little unbirthday bbq for him where he can actually hang out and celebrate turning the BIG 3-9!!

That's right, folks! He's on the cusp of 40 and HE DON'T CARE! He literally doesn't care. Now, I've known him for 14 years now and he's not a basketcase about age. He accepts each year and each milestone as an "I'm still here" moment. Cool. Smooth. Carefree.

So here's to you, Merm, knowing that no matter how old you turn, you will always stay the same. And I like that.
