Ever feel torn about which way to go? You're in a situation, you need to make a decision, but you're not sure which answer is right. The world is telling you to go one way, but your heart is telling you to go the other way.
Sometimes the answer isn't going to be the easiest, the smoothest or the happiest. But you know, in your heart, that it is the right way.
The Bible is a great road map. It is a fantastic guide to look to when you are stuck. It will always tell you which way to go and yes, the road is rough and uphill, but in the end, it is all worth it.
Daily, I have to make decisions; parenting, marriage-based, leadership, tough ones, easy ones, really stinky awful ones and no brainer ones. I try to do the best I can, but trying isn't the answer. It's training. Training better to BETTER handle the decisions I need to make. The sermon we had today at church said exactly that: Christian life isn't about trying harder, but training better.
So, I train myself to make decisions based on what the Bible says. How do I treat this person? How should I react when my child does this? We follow the Bible in our house and I do the best I can to be the best I can. And I fail. Every day I fail. But I learn from my failures because there is ALWAYS a lesson.
Let me encourage you in this: don't always take the easy way out. Exit the way you know is right. In the end, it will make you stronger and better equipped to handle even harder situations tomorrow. Sure, it could make you unpopular by the world's standards, but being able to glorify Christ with your life? I think that's pretty awesome.
