Day Thirteen- Rocket Coffee & Laundry

First of all, yes. Yes, that is a real coffee cup. I would gladly claim it, but B received it as a gift for Christmas from me because, come on....it is an EPIC cup!

Coffee is like rocket fuel sometimes. I was on FIY-AH today after my coffee date with my friend Sam! I got in laundry mode, since I didn't get to finish yesterday- folding, folding, washing, drying. Repeat. Folding, folding, washing, drying. Repeat, etc.

I love laundry, but I rarely get to finish it in a day any more. I used to be able to get all 5,000 loads done, folded, put away, perhaps ironed in one day......Now, it takes me about two, if not more than that! But, oh, how I do love laundry. I love the sorting, the smell of laundry detergent and dryer sheets. I love the folding, all nice and neat, sunshiny and fluffy (or as Scarlet prefers to call it, "soffly").

I love emptying the hampers down the laundry chute (or as we call it, the Rabbit Hole). I love having the littles push the start button for me on the washer & dryer. I don't love them folding with me, but I wait until they're gone and then refold it....bad mom, maybe, but my desire for perfectly folded towels overrides being the nice mom. (Insert the tsk tsking.)

I love my well-stocked laundry room, the neat stack of soak-buckets, the lack of clothes that need to be soaked.......and I LOVE that the girls can put away their own clothes. Once their neatly folded leggings & pjs are removed from my grasp, I close my eyes and wait until the girls are gone, saying good bye to the creases and folds of each tiny shirt & skirt.

Good bye sweet dress and sweet swimsuit. Farewell until I see you in the hamper again....farewell!
