Curiosity, as defined by Dictionary.com:
the desire to learn or know about anything; inquisitiveness.
No one was more curious than Alice. She had her finger in every pie and her nose in everyone's business. She wanted to know about anything and everything!
What do I love about homeschooling? I feel like Alice every day. Whatever the girls are learning about in history or one of the stories they are reading, I want to learn more about it! Mount Vesuvius & Pompeii, comparing & contrasting Roman mythology to Greek mythology, rain forest conservation & where it currently stands, etc, etc, & etc again.
I can't get enough of it. I want to check out books, visit websites, find someone to talk about it with me. Piper asked me about Veteran's Day and suddenly I wanted to find every book that I could to show her about our history.
And what I love even more about homeschooling? Piper's desire to want to know more about the Hawaiian's belief of Pele and why the Romans didn't keep the Greek names for their gods; why people were so mean and wanted to watch men kill each other in the Colosseum; did Robin Hood really exist; what did Cleopatra look like. I can tell when she's excited about something and I am ready to pull up any youtube video I can to show her what trumpeter swans really sound like.
I love that she loves to learn. She is curious.
She is my Alice in the making.
