I just got back from an exceptional time up in Draper, where I recorded for our SMCC album (at our sister campus). It was HARD work. WORK. Singing feels effortless to me sometimes, but I am reminded of how it isn't always easy. This is a gift I've been given and I have the opportunity to use it every week; the opportunity to share my love of Christ; the opportunity to make good things happen.
It was a humbling experience. We, as musicians, can be extremely arrogant, selfish, big-headed, etc. After an awesome Sunday service, I sometimes feel like I'm on top of the world. Like a Jesus high. And of course, there are times where I feel like BOOM. Take that.
Last night, and today, I was reminded that I am not perfect. I do not have a perfect voice. I cannot always find the right note. I am not always the bomb.
This experience has reminded me that I need to CONSISTENTLY thank God for the gifts & opportunities I have. I am very lucky.
And on that note.....thank YOU to Ben Robie, Dan Brook, Lauren Robie and Adam something-or-other for letting me sing "with" y'all.
Now, for some pics to share:
Our recording booth.
Taking my usual selfy.
And me being myself.

Hard at work.
