Nothing to talk about

It's just a passing hour
Breath wasted on speech
That falls like stones into the water

Eyes closed, alive
Clouds in the sky
Lazy days gone by

What is it worth
That when the sun sets
There is no memory
All washed away like the
Chalk on sidewalk, years gone

Sun comes, sun goes
Day breaks, waves crash
Moon waxes, babies cry

But in the morning, eyes open
In the bright sun
Another day and I pray
I give thanks
For just another day
