Three Cheers for Me!

I think this is the best way to follow up my previous post. (I think I really needed this because I was feeling like I never do anything right.)

I was reading
Rachel's blog, saw this post and decided to follow suit. I think every mom needs to do this, and if you're not a mom yet, write three things about yourself that you do well.

#1: (Stolen from both Rachel's and Keiko's blog) I am teaching my girls to love to read- Piper and Samantha both have tons of books. I have found them on countless occasions sitting together in Piper's room with a pile of books between them. I love to read and I make it a point to read to them as often as possible!

#2:
I am teaching my girls to love music- I sing all the time. Whether it's actual songs or ones that I make up while vacuuming, I always have something musical trilling from my throat. Piper now sings all over the place and I have heard her make up songs too. Sam makes noises and tries to sing along with us (although I swear she almost sang e-i-e-i-o the other day). I LOVE music and I LOVE to sing. I always found it a joy growing up hearing my mom and grandma singing in the kitchen or on road trips when I was younger. Plus, I'm always playing music in the car or the house, especially when I'm cleaning. We dance around and act silly. They have musical instruments that they always grab when the music is playing.

#3:
I always have time to give hugs and kisses- I tell my girls that I love them probably a million times a day. I can't help it. I'm always hugging them and kissing them and I get it right back. I never want my girls to feel unloved. Even when I'm mad, I can't help but give them a hug afterward and tell them that I love them. I'm sure when they become all-knowing teenagers it will be a little harder to give hugs and kisses, but I'm praying that they never grow too old for a hug.

Ah, that really did make me feel better.
