Day 6- Blast From the Past

Christmas 2002

One of the few pics I have of us pre-marriage. We'd only been dating for less than 2 months.

How we met:
I had just broken up with a boyfriend and was chillin' with my best friend, Eliza at college group (this was held at church). I see this guy walk in and immediately thought, 'He is too old to be here'. (BTW, I was 21 and I found out later, he was barely 25.)

After group was over, I see him come over to talk to Eliza. Did she know him? He was good looking, but that was all I thought at the time. I walked over and inserted myself into the conversation. Seems they did know each other. After about 5 minutes, he turned to me and said, "And what's your name?"

"Cassandra."

"Nice to meet you, Cassandra. Well, I've got to get home."

He actually turned to leave and I had to say, "Um, and you are?" I didn't even know his name! He turned back around and said, "My name's Bryce."

"Nice to meet you, Bryce."

And that was the beginning.

Now, according to Bryce, this is how we met:

He had been out of a relationship for 6 months, but she had not been the type that he wanted to settle down with. He knew that he wanted to settle down with a "good girl". So, off he went to church for the first time, after about a 2 year hiatus. His goal was to meet 10 girls that night. He saw me across the room and thought, 'She's cute.' (At least I made his Top 10 list.) He came, he met and he left. That was pretty much it.

One month later, we went on our first date; one year later, we were engaged; and five months after that, we were Mr. & Mrs. Bryce Daugherty.
