30-23: #homeschoollife

So THIS is going to be life in one more week.

Yeah. Believe me, I feel it too.

This year is going to be a tough one for sure. It's slightly overwhelming. Well, okay...maybe a little more than slightly. It's pretty overwhelming. Just looking at Piper's curriculum this year and the amount of workbooks she has freaks me out.

I have all three girls for school this year: 4th, 2nd & Kindergarten and this is our 5th year doing school with Utah Virtual Academy partnered with K12 curriculum. It is a public online school. Each girl is assigned a teacher and more often than not, different teachers for different subjects. They have classes that they will attend online. That's their school in a nutshell.

I love it. I love the school, the support, the curriculum, the teachers, all of it. So far, Sam & Piper have done so well in school. Piper has been on the honor roll, they are on track with students in their grades in the state of Utah, Samantha actually surpassed her class in math and is already halfway through 2nd grade math. They are excellent! And I love having the girls at home. I don't like them to be away from me. I like being involved in their education, watching them unfold.

So, as tough as this year is going to be and how overwhelming it might look now, we'll gauge it again at the end of the year. Who knows? Maybe we'll decide to put them in brick & mortar schools. Maybe we'll keep them at home. Maybe I'll have shaved my head! All I know is I am 100% committed to this school year and no matter what the girls do, I know that they will be successful, each in their own right.

Here's to one more week of summer break, the calm before the storm and my gorgeous head of hair.
