Thirty Days- Day Four- And Then She Was Four

So the child that was a surprise turned four this month.

Did I ever tell you that story? Sam was 1 and I desperately wanted to convince Bryce that we should have more kids. As soon as Sam was born, I KNEW that I wanted more kids. A mother just....knows. We went out to eat, I pleaded my case and cajoled, we went home, no more discussion.

Fast forward to a month later....well.....oh Lord. I was shocked to find out I was pregnant and B was in denial. So our surprise baby turned out to be our sweet & sassy Scarlet Josephine- MAN she's thrown me for a loop. What a crazy and cuddly kid! She is strange, wonderful, insane and awesome. And I love her.

 

Her twinner (my sister) Chelsea came out to celebrate with us. I remember calling her on her birthday- she asked, "Are you going to have that baby today?" In between contractions, trying to breathe out the words "I....don't....know."

 

Four years have gone by much too quickly and I am looking forward to see who Scarlet becomes. I'm sure she'll keep surprising us.
