The bottom DROPS OUT FROM UNDER YOU. YOU FALL. YOU ARE FALLING IN A TUBE. WITH WATER. WATER POURING UNDER YOU, ON YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH. AND AFTER YOU ARE DONE FALLING, THE TUBE CURVES UNDERNEATH YOU AND THE WATER IS IN YOUR MOUTH AGAIN. Then it's over.
I was super nervous. OH man. The lifeguard is telling us to cross our arms & ankles, so I crossed myself just to be on the safe side. You get in this tube and it has a freakin' door! The door shuts, you're leaning very slightly against a wall. A lovely voice counts backwards from three, cheerfully says LAUNCH and you have like one nanosecond before the floor drops out from under you and you are falling.
As I watched the little kids in front of me, the floor would drop out from underneath them and their poor little hand would scramble against the glass for a second, like a cry for help. I was standing in the tube, feeling like I should be holding onto something, like a harness or roller coaster bar or something. So when they were counting down, I was scrambling around my top trying to figure out what I was supposed to hold onto. I swear I pulled a muscle or something when I jumped out at the end.
I jumped up and yelled, "I surVIVED!" Of course, a ton of water also poured out of my mouth at the same time. It was crazy.
Anyways, the girls were so cute at the water park (which is Sunsplash by the way, and it has been around FOREVER). Piper went on the slides with the inner tubes, the little girls played in the kids area. We loved the wave pool and Samantha actually enjoyed it this time, rather than crying the whole time the waves were on. Scarlet was a big girl and went down the blue tubes (they're tubes you slide down all by your lonesome) all by herself! She was so cute. And there was nothing better than seeing my mom come shooting out of the tube like a crazy woman. Ahhh, the memories I'll have of today. We had lots of laughs and snuggles. I look forward to every summer when I know we're coming out to Mesa so I can take the girls to Sunsplash.
We stopped at Jason's Deli (St. George, we NEED one) for lunch. It was SO good.
The girls all had ice cream after they ate all of their lunch.
Can you tell they enjoyed it?
My meatball sub (MeataBALLA) was amazingly delicious.
FACT: My sister is a creeper.
Before our arrival at Sunsplash to ride on Double Dare.
We bad.
Our re-enactment of falling down a tube.
A sneak peek of my project for tonight (more to come tomorrow).
Yay for today. Yay for being brave and trying something new. Yay for nachos and Indian fry bread with refried beans and cheese. Yay for relaxing. And yay for.....um.....an awesome day.
