My mom is coming tomorrow and I'm so excited! I love when she comes to visit and I love that she takes her precious vacation time to do just that.
If anyone had told me that being a mom would be the hardest job I'd ever have, I would have laughed. But it's true. Being a mom is the hardest job I've ever had. The disciplining, watching what I say and do, making sure they're being fed & bathed, homeschooling, potty training, tears (from them AND from me).
However, it is also the most rewarding. Scarlet running up to me and hugging my legs, Sam snuggling with me in bed, Piper giving me her little secret smile, the laughs, the sing-alongs...
I don't know how my mom did it. I never needed for anything and I don't ever remember a day going hungry or being cold, even though I've been told that we came pretty near to both of those. She took time out of her busy day to hang out with us, take us on surprise trips and showing up for school functions or games. My sisters and I are very lucky. I hope that Piper, Samantha and Scarlet will feel the same way when they are older.
