You guessed it...I posted this for two reasons:
1. Because I can't find my camera and that has all of my more recent pictures on it.
2. I saw this and laughed (good times).
So, why this picture? I have been thinking lately about how much Bryce and I have changed. Not so much physically, but how we are different as a married couple, as friends and as individuals.
Literally, four days after this picture was taken, I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant. I'm a month along with Piper and didn't even know it. Our lives were about to make a major left turn into unknown territory. We had passed two years of marriage without much difficulty and was heading into our third. We had routine, we had jobs, we had...lives! Hahahaha.
Almost 7 years and 3 kids later, we have not remained the same. I feel like we've matured (okay, for real, we have), we've taken on different roles; have things necessarily gotten better? Worse? It's hard to say yes or no to that. Our love is deeper than ever for each other and our love for our daughters deepens as well. Do we still have that spark that we had 10 years ago? Well, no....but it's a different flame.
Anyways...I miss those days because we were able to go out and do all of these fun things. Now, we have to pay a babysitter, coordinate our schedules (well, with my schedule actually...I'm way busier than Bryce). It takes a lot more work than coming home Friday after work, changing, heading out for dinner and whatever the night would bring us.
But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I have three beautiful, crazy, stinky daughters who adore me, along with B and his magnificent deodorant (ohhhhh....it smells so good and his armpit is the right height for me). This is the path that God wanted me to follow and here I am. Where He'll take me next, I don't know.
By the way, this was taken at B & Javier's 10 year HS reunion (I was 25 and B was about to turn 29). Fun to think about those days (and B's hair)!
