Rolling in the Deep...Snow

Sunday afternoon, the fam headed out on a mini road trip to explore a small part of the gorgeous state we live in. We decided to go up through Zion and head north on the 89, toward Bryce Canyon. It was beautiful!

There was snow on the ground (totally excited), icy patches on the road (not so excited) and snow falling from the sky (where else would it fall from?).

We stopped in Bryce Canyon to play in the snow. We saw some deer, much healthier-looking than the ones in Zion and it snowed pretty good too while we were there.

Sam hated getting snow on her, but she liked dangling a toe in it. She must take after me. Scarlet loved it and Piper dove into it. At one point, she fell through about 12 inches and got her boot stuck. I thought it was hilarious, but I don't think she did. I too fell through a few times, but thankfully kept my boots on!

We drove up through Panguitch then took the desolate 20 west to the 15. There, it started snowing like crazy! We ended up in a conga line on the freeway going about 30. I couldn't stop exclaiming how awesome it was. Bryce, on the other hand, thought I was a dork. This is coming from an Arizona/SoCal girl. Sorry, but I love the snow!

All in all, it was a great day! I think we drove over 220 miles and it took us from about 2 PM until 8 PM before we were snug in our house. We decided that we'll slowly explore more and more, but maybe wait another couple of months before we go again. In fact, we may just take a day off from life so we can go further north.

On a side note, all the girls wanted to listen to was "There's a fire in my heart". Thanks, Adele, for bewitching my children as well as myself.
