Anyhow, we road "tripped" it up to Sandpoint, Idaho for a mini Daugherty family reunion/mother-in-law's 60th birthday celebration/our family vacation. Oh yah. Add some antelope, running out of gas on the lake, a quad ride, the best brisket and an interesting moose story, then you'll have our last week.
Awesome.
Thus begins Part One of our Idaho Vacation. I present to you,
ROAD TRIPPIN'
Starring:
Bryce, the driver.

Me, the ever lovely navigator.

Sam, the noise-maker.

Piper, the storyteller.

And Scarlet...the sleeping/happy baby.
Day one, we made it all the way up through Utah and into Idaho.
These are from Northern Utah:

Pretty hills and snow-covered mountains.

Quaint little farms with obscene amounts of cows.

Movin' right along on the 1-15 North.
It was too dark when we got into Idaho to take any pictures. We stopped for the night at Pocatello. We do not recommend the Super 8 only for the fact that the bed was horrible. Nice customer service and decent continental breakfast the next morning.
Day 2, we made it from Pocatello, through Montana, back into Idaho, up to Sandpoint.

Our sweet driver, chatting it up with his dad.

Our fearless pioneer Mama, with a twinkle in her eye.

Sam with "Roo-us", "bang-it" and "udder bang-it".

Piper, the constant snacker and movie critic.

And Scarlet, the STILL sleeping/happy baby.
Some of Montana's gorgeous landscape:

We stopped somewhere to fill up on gas and eat. The girls were very happy to be out of the car.

Chillin' in the back.

Yummy in the tummy.
It was fun; a lot of stopping (which is imperative when driving with three little girls), a book on tape, some movies, a bald eagle sighting, lots of deer and bison and a near encounter with a deer about to pop onto the highway.
I have to say, our girls are FANTASTIC little travelers. We are so freakin' lucky.
Stay tuned for Part Two!
