Day Twenty Six- Piper Stories

I have two great stories to share about my first-born.

STORY #1:

During my 3rd outing alone with all 3 girls, we experienced somewhat of a tragedy.

I decided to do some quick grocery shopping at Wal-Mart to get some supplies for the week. I had Scarlet perched in the front of the basket in her carseat, Samantha sitting in the basket and Piper, being the "big girl", walking with me.

The first five minutes were perfect, until we hit the Christmas dish towel aisle. I'm looking at the 2 buck towels, thinking about how cute some of them were, when I hear the most dreaded sound that any parent would fear (next to the throwing up sound, I believe).

CRASH!

Sure enough, I swivel my head around to see my sweet Piper Diane holding an empty cardboard display box...and about 8 horrific ceramic Santa plates...BROKEN on the floor.

I about died. The pharmacist was looking at me and laughing, so I think I did die for a few minutes there.

Thankfully, it happens all the time (according to an employee), so we escaped unscathed, but completely abashed at the thought of having a successful outing.

Never again.

From now on, I'll do my shopping with one child and one child only!

STORY #2:

My mom relayed this one to me during my hospital stay with Scarlet, where I about busted a gut laughing (have you tried laughing after a C-section...not fun).

She sees Piper in the bathroom, bent over with her pants around her ankles. Making the assumption that Piper needs help pulling up her pants, she walks into the bathroom and bends over Piper to assist.

As she is performing this act of kindess, she asks Piper what she is doing.

(This is where I say she is definitely Bryce's child.)

"I'm farting."

Gotta love Piper D!

When Stephanie and Mindy were little I would wait until Dave got home from work to go shopping, that would sometimes be as late as midnight, but it sure beat trying to shop with a baby and 3 year old in tow.
