Seriously Excited

You may not know it from this picture, but Piper was seriously excited to have just earned this Cinderella doll.

I've been home-preschooling Piper for almost 2 months now. We started out simple with ABC's and numbers...and we're still there. No problem. I'm not trying to make a genius out of her and we're okay with taking our time.

Bryce had promised Piper that if she paid attention at "school" and mastered all of her ABC's (upper-case, for right now), she would earn a prize. To motivate her, we picked it out last week: a wonderfully priced Cinderella doll from Wal-Mart.

And today, she earned it.

Without hesitation, she belted out the answers to her flashcards. When I told her she had just earned the doll, she started laughing hysterically. As Bryce was cutting the ties off of said Cinderella, she's dancing around the kitchen, still laughing hysterically. She grabbed Cinderella, hugged her and ran off to her room to find her Aurora doll so they could all "having fun" together.

What a sweet baby! Oops, did I say baby? I meant little girl...or soon to be big girl?

Why is Piper growing up so fast?

Next stop, wearing panties to bed tonight for the first time. And I've finagled Bryce into stripping the sheets for me in the middle of the night so I don't have to haul my large body up to the top bunk to perform the impossible.

Life is sweet.
