Turtles and Some Face "Painting"

We had a chance to pop over to Alan and Cheryl's place (which also happened to be Bryce's "office" for our vacation) to do some swimming.

I had forgotten that they owned a bunch of tortoises. Piper and Sam were totally excited and wanted to feed them worms. Well, at least Piper did...

She only wanted to "pet" the turtles at first.

Then she found out that they liked to eat dandelions.
She was all over that.
I don't think they had any yellow flowers left in their backyard after that day.

And of course, any growing tortoise needs its fresh greens.

And this is about how close Samantha would get to the tortoises:

It was very cute.

And we can't forget about Ed:

He was HUGE! I think Sam could have easily ridden on his back.
Needless to say, the girls didn't go near him.
Poor Ed.

We went swimming in the 84 degree pool (ahhh, so nice, especially to the preggo) and after lunch, we busted out the sidewalk chalk. However, that grew old, so the girls got inventive.

Piper innocently drawing...

And then I see this cute face...

She's not sure if it's her color or not.

But maybe it'll bring out her blue eyes?

Piper seems to think it'll work on her too.

Sam watching the master at work.

Sam has to make sure she's caught up to Piper's skill.

"Here, you color your diaper and I'll poke you in the eye. Sound good?"
