Getting Ready for Cali

So, we're leaving on Sunday for our last "vacation"- 2 weeks in San Diego, courtesy of Sue and Cliff (the in-laws). Before we leave on any trip, I usually TRY to clean the house so that way I don't come home to a mess.

Now, before you judgment begins, let me confess that I dislike cleaning. This makes me a bad housewife, I know. It makes Bryce happy to have a clean house, yet it takes every cell inside me to get up and do it. ESPECIALLY when I'm pregnant.

Last week, I mopped for the first time in probably a couple of months. After mopping my kitchen alone (we have a lot of tile in our house), the mop water was a dark brown. (Oh, I have a dark colored slate, so you can't tell if it's dirty or not.) I mopped again today and the mop water from the kitchen was still brown. This clued me in that, well, my kitchen floor is a wee bit dirtier than I thought it was.

BUT, now all my tile is clean and "sparkly". Plus, that is one less thing I have to do before we leave (and it's probably the one thing I dislike the most since I have to do it when the girls are sleeping...which is normally my "make something to drink, get a snack and veg in front of the computer for a few hours" time).

On a side note, to illustrate my husband's feelings on a clean house, this is what he looks like when the house is dirty:

And this is what he looks like when the house is clean:

Not much different, I know, but see? There's no fist shaking at me!
