Fun in the Sun at Gunlock Reservoir

Today, Chere and I took the kids to Gunlock Reservoir. When there's been a lot of rain and when the snow melts, the combination overflows the reservoir and sends waterfalls out. The water was cold, but it felt so good in the southern Utah heat. Getting down to the water and back up to the car was crazy with the kids, but I think between me, Chere and her kids, we were able to do it without dying. Good thing too, 'cause I've got plans tonight!

The big waterfall by us, that fed into the big pool.

View of the flat water that we played in.

Chere and Pip, chilling by the big pool.

Time to go for a swim!

Whooooo...that water is cold!

That cowboy hat saved my nose!

Go Chere!

Can't get out...too perfect now that the sun is really hot!

Sam, double-hatting it, by the big pool.

Somebody got splashed!

Notice that I'm gripping her wrist...didn't want her to fall in!

Studying the patterns of the ripples.

Enjoying ourselves...or an alternate title:
Beached whale! Beached whale at Gunlock!

Piper, making sure her cover-up doesn't get wet!

Sam's taking a water break.

Relaxing in the sun.

Shoveling chips as fast as she can!
