I've been struggling with getting up early in the morning.
And I just. Can't. Do. It.
And I just. Can't. Do. It.
I love to sleep way too much. So I decided that if I can't get out of bed in the morning to go for a run, then I will run at night after the girls have gone to bed.
I did. I ran almost 2 miles. It felt great! I know that when I feel my sore legs tomorrow, it will be a good sore. And I'm looking forward to that good soreness.
I don't have much music on my computer, but what I did have was worship music from church. I loaded them up and caught myself starting to worship as I ran. Who would know what I was doing, drumming out the beat with one arm, or waving them around in the air, mouthing the words?
One song's lyrics caught my attention...
Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
When I stumble in the darkness
I will call your name by night
God of Wonders is my all-time favorite worship song and my all-time favorite song to sing with my dad. And boy, does it make me miss him.
He is definitely a morning person. And he loves this verse because when he gets up at the crack of dawn, he goes out back with his cup of coffee and drinks the morning in...the sun coming up, the birds singing, his beautiful garden, the San Diego weather, thanking God for all that He has blessed him with.
This made me think that I really should be getting up in the morning to run. It's my alone time. And my alone time with God. I should be celebrating the sun rising while I'm out there pounding the pavement, worshiping His goodness while I do my body a favor.
I decided that this song will be the first song on my play list.
Call it an inspiration, if you will.
I call it truth.
