Now, before you start complaining that I'm posting about American Idol on my Idol-less blog, let me explain!
I have decided that I no longer want to watch American Idol.
I'll wait for you to pick your jaw up off the floor.
I love American Idol. The drama, the music, the talent...but this year, I just wasn't as excited as I normally am. Maybe last year's season jaded me. I don't know.
#1: We no longer have cable. This is on purpose. We haven't really been watching tv, so we decided to cancel it. We're movie hounds and always have been.
#2: Therefore, we only watch the tv shows that we really want to watch (like Castle, Chuck, Life, etc.) by other means. American Idol has been a recipient of this since the premiere.
#3: But I am finding it harder and harder to find the time to actually sit down and watch it. I can't have it until the morning after it airs and it seems that I find other things I'd like to do rather than wasting 2 hours of the day.
So, I've decided that I must not be that excited about it and won't worry about watching it anymore. Maybe I'll change my mind after the auditions, but as of right now, I'm a no go.
Until then, I'll finish my current book (Angels and Demons by Dan Brown), work on my scrapbook and play with my girls. After all, these are things to get excited over.
