AI Update #4

I was VERY disappointed with this episode; no one really stood out and there were a lot of blah performances. I honestly think that they should've left the Beatles last week and gone onto something different this week.

THE TOP ELEVEN

Amanda Overymyer
Back in the U.S.S.R.

Same ole', same ole'. Amanda knows which songs to pick that suit her style. This song was a good song for her, but Simon's right--she's going to get mundane very fast. She didn't sound too good at the beginning...we'll see.

Kristy Lee Cook You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
This was not a good song for Kristy and even still, she didn't sing it well. She should showcase her voice more, but she doesn't. She's my first pick for the Bottom 3.

David Archuleta
The Long and Winding Road

What's funny is that my dad said David should sing this song...and then he did! He's a crooner and very good at it. This wasn't an exciting performance, but still very good (and way better than last week).

Michael Johns
Day in the Life

I heard the news that Michael may be going home next week. He's got a good voice, but any song choice from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is not a good performing song for AI. It just wasn't good. He's my second pick for the Bottom 3.

Brooke White Here Comes the Sun

I don't know what happened here. This song didn't suit Brooke at all and her weird dancing was just...weird. But I still love her and there's no way she's off the show just yet.

David Cook
Day Tripper

David, please don't make your guitar talk EVER again. Other than that retarded moment, the song was well put. But if he was trying to duplicate his performance from last week, he better be careful 'cause it'll get old fast.

Carly Smithson
Blackbird

I like this song and think that Carly did it okay. I was waiting for her to get up into her high range. She still did a good job. Woot San Diego!

Jason Castro
Michelle

Um, I honestly don't know what to say. Jason is not going home. But it wasn't good...and it wasn't bad. It was just weird. He's got too much of a fan base to be in the Bottom 3 yet.

Syesha Mercado
Yesterday

This was my favorite performance tonight. I think Syesha did a fantastic job with this song. It even gave me goosebumps. She'll be safe this week for sure.

Chikezie
I've Just Seen a Face

Chik-cheesy was trying WAY too hard tonight to be like he was last week. I didn't really dig the slow start; I liked the hoe-down, but he needs to be careful. I think because he tried too hard, he's my third pick for the Bottom 3.

Ramiele Mulabay
I Should Have Known Better

I think this song was an okay choice for Ramiele. She's got a good voice and there were some parts where she rocked, but over all...just okay. She's my Alternate pick for this week.

BOTTOM 3:
Michael Johns
Kristy Lee Cook
Chikezie

ALTERNATE:
Ramiele Mulabay

And I'm sorry, but Kellie Pickler needs to NOT come on the show tomorrow...I was so glad when she got voted off in her season. It was actually on my birthday! :) So anyhow, we'll see what happens tomorrow. Just so you know, it was hard to pick two of my Bottom 3 and my Alternate because I honestly thought there were a lot of NOT GOOD performances.
