AI Update #9/Voted Off

HAPPY MAY DAY!

I love Neil Diamond. I like a lot of his songs and think that he's a great songwriter. I was excited to see that he was going to be a mentor this year. And I think he has been my favorite mentor so far. They were allowed to sing 2 songs each this time. Let's see how our group did!

THE TOP 5

Jason Castro
"Forever In Blue Jeans" and "September Morn"
I thought Jason did better the second time around, but he's just not putting any effort into this. He's my first pick for the Bottom 2 and honestly, it's time to go home, yet again (I think I said this last week).

David Cook

"I'm Alive" and "All I Really Need Is You"
I didn't recognize either song, but David sure can sing! He did a great job, as usual.

Brooke White

"I'm a Believer" and "I Am I Said"

Poor Brooke. She can't do happy songs. They just don't work. But when she does sentimental ones, she lays her heart on the line and that always seems to be the way to do it. I thought the second song was fantastic!

David Archuleta

"Sweet Caroline" and "America"
I love David's voice. He is always so melodic. I think he did a good job on both songs, but it's starting to pall a little. Let's bring it up a notch!

Syesha Mercado

"Hello Again" and "Thank the Lord For the Night Time"
Wowee! I've said it before and I'll say it again. That girl has got some pipes. But, she's not that popular. She's my second pick for the Bottom 2.

BOTTOM 2:
Jason Castro

Syesha Mercado

With that being said, Jason, come on...let's go home.

But who really went home?

24 year-old Brooke White

Oh no! She's really tried her hardest each time and has pulled out some amazing performances. Woot for Mesa! I hope she comes out with an album because I would buy it. She's got a very pretty voice. But I always knew she wouldn't make it to the top.

Here's to you Brooke! We love you!
