AI Update #2

Okay, so I've had a couple complaints (Dad, Bryce and Jakey, to be precise) that my AI posts are no fun to read, so for those of you who want more pictures of Piper and info on our family, I will be making my AI posts short; no more pictures and I'll try to keep the commentary to a minimum. (BTW...not only am I doing my Bottom 2 predictions for both the guys and girls, I'm also picking alternatives (one each) because there always deserves to be a Bottom 3 at this stage.) So here we go:

The Top 8 Guys

Luke Menard "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" by Wham

This song will always remind me of the gasoline fight in 'Zoolander'. But anyways, I like the song, but I don't think Luke performed it that well. He has a great voice, but I don't think he compares to the other guys for the Top 12. He's my pick for the Bottom 2.

David Archuleta "Another Day in Paradise" by Phil Collins

Still my boyfriend; but anyhow, not as great as last week, but it was still a good performance. What a cutie!

Danny Noriega "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell

Horrible, horrible, horrible. The arrangement was cool, but it was a bad song choice for Danny. He has a decent voice but couldn't show it off with this song. If votefortheworst doesn't keep him on, he's gone. He's my second pick for the Bottom 2.

David Hernandez "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" by Celine Dion/Meatloaf

I've only heard this song done by Celine Dion, but I think David did a great job with it. He's got a fantastic voice. Definitely going through to the Top 12.

Michael Johns "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds

Totally, totally awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing him later in the competition.

David Cook "Hello" by Lionel Richie

WOW! That was so awesome! He did a fantastic rendition of this song and I can totally see him making it a little further into the competition. I still would like to see him sing without his guitar. But again, WOW.

Jason Castro "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen/Jeff Buckley

What a beautiful song. I thought it was well done, with the exception of the wobble at the end. A good job for a drummer; and he didn't have his guitar either. Really, really good.

Chikezie "All the Man That I Need" by Whitney Houston

I thought it was a really good performance. I don't recognize the song, but hey, he did a good job. I think he's on for the next round. BUT, he's also my pick as the alternative for the Bottom 2.

The Top 8 Girls

Asia'h Epperson "I Want to Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston

Hey, 2nd rate Whitney is good. I think she was fantastic. There were a couple of notes that were iffy, but still fantastic.

Kady Malloy "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen

I disagree with the judges; this was not her best performance and I honestly thought she was off-key a lot. She's my first pick for the Bottom 2.

Amanda Overmyer "I Hate Myself For Loving You" by Joan Jett

This is the kind of style that she is best at. I think she'll make it to the Top 12, but beware because if she can't change her style, she may not make it very far.

Carly Smithson "I Drove All Night" by Cindy Lauper

I've only heard this song sung by Celine Dion on a car commercial, but MAN does Carly rock or what? I think she was phenomenal! I see her in the Top 5 even.

Kristy Lee Cook "Faithfully" by Journey

I love this song, but I wasn't sure about the country she put into it. It sounds like it worked for her, but I don't think she'll last long in the competition. In fact, she's my 2nd choice for the Bottom 2.

Ramiele Mulabay "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins

She has such a big voice, but didn't show it off with this song. She could go, but I think she will surprise us and stay for a while. She's my alternative pick for the Bottom 2.

Brooke White "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benetar

My favorite for the night; Brooke has a raspiness that creeps in and it sounds beautiful. I loved the acoustic version for this song and I think it suited her well. I see her going far in this competition.

Syesha Mercado "Saving All My Love For You" by Whitney Houston

What's up with the Whitneys tonight? I think she did a great job and will be around for SURE in the Top 12. I love her personality.
